Baked Camembert with Waggle Honey
Whether you are entertaining dinner guests or just looking for a delicious treat, this decadent dish is easy to make and a creamy piece of heaven. All that's required is a whole camembert or brie cheese, and Waggle Craft Honey of your choice. But if you're feeling fancy, why not make your very own nut praline to serve this with?
You will need the following ingredients:
- 1/2 cup pecan nut halves
- 1/2 cup macadamia nuts, roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup almonds, roughly chopped
- 1tbsp cumin seeds
- 2 cups (430g) castor sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Roasting the nuts: Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the combined nuts over the tray. Bake for about 5min at 180°C or until golden brown. Add the cumin seeds in for the last 2min of roasting.
Making the toffee: Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Stir over low heat until the sugar completely dissolves. Bring to the boil without stirring, occasionally brushing down the sides of the pan with a wet pastry brush for 15-20min or until golden. Set aside for 1-2min or until bubbles subside.
Combining the praline: Pour the toffee evenly over the nuts. Set aside for 10 minutes to set. Break into shards.
Serving the cheese: Bake your cheese of choice in an oven dish for 5min at 180°C. Once removed from the oven, drizzle some Waggle Salted, Spiced or Chilli Honey over the top. Serve with your nut praline, fresh grapes and crackers or melba toast of your choice.
